Hi,

I can see that there are a number of changes in the IT towers in the version 2 of the IT towers.

My question relates to the move of:

Database
Middleware
Mainframe Database
Mainframe Middleware

To the "Application" tower - what are the reasons for moving those to that area instead of version 1 where they belonged to "Compute"?

The Standards Committee wanted to keep the Compute tower as focused on the physical infrastructure.  The database and middleware were seen more as "application infrastructure" and was moved under the Application tower. 

Note:  The servers associated with any database or middleware would still be captured under the Compute tower.  The database and middleware software along with the labor (e.g. physical and logical DBAs) would be captured in the Database & Middleware sub-towers under Application.
