    Hi,

Is there a TBM roadmap that defines when and what we can expect from TBM  e.g. for the following?:

    1. Foundational Data (e.g. Master Data such as Locations, Companies, Business Units, Departments, Teams, and Business Processes)
    2. Business/Technical Services (aka TBM Solution Taxonomy)
    3. Business Applications, Information Objects, Business Capabilities
    4. Components of Business Applications (e.g. API's/Micro Services/etc)
    5. Desktop Software Packages that may be requested and/or deployed on Phones and/or PC's
    6. Deployed/discovered CMDB Configuration Items incl. its interdependencies (of a CMDB Class aka TBM Tower)
    7. Product Assets/Licenses of a Product Model, linked to a TBM Cost Pool.
    8. Business Roles, Technology Roles, Process Roles (RBAC)
    Regards,

    Jeroen

    Hello Jeroen,

The TBM textbook has outlined three broad stages for a TBM implementation roadmap:

Phase 1 - Build the foundation (~ the first 90 days): Exploratory, foundational phase. Identify the data points, map services, cost pools, etc. to the taxonomy, and begin benchmarking the costs.

Phase 2 - Move up the stack: Create metrics, deep dive costs, find inefficiencies, and incorporate specific application billing data ( including cloud).

Phase 3 - Connect with the business: Create visibility, deliver the bill of IT, and start shaping demand.

The items you have listed can be identified/ aligned to the taxonomy in phase 1 and used to deliver the bill of IT as part of phase 3.

However, these phases can also crisscross and work parallelly in an iterative agile manner! Exploration and gap analysis can be an ongoing process throughout the roadmap.

More details can be found in chapter 10 of the TBM textbook!

    Thank you !
