While TBM practices commonly combine financial and operational data as an on-ramp for value conversations, mature practices continuously supplement their models with additional contextual data to add new dimensions to tradeoff, cost, and value conversations. TBM practices also deliver insights that can accelerate emerging standards which then provide another source of contextual data back to TBM. 
 
This white paper was commissioned by the TBM Council Standards Committee in 2023 with a goal of educating global practitioners regarding supplemental categories of meta-data recommended for additional decision support in modern organizations. It also provides a sample case for leveraging TBM to accelerate adoption of adjacent business and technology frameworks, specifically the Exponential Organization. The Exponential Organization is a business framework designed to facilitate organizational growth in context of today’s more dynamic and often exponential growth potential driven by the opportunities and risks of technology. This guide is available to TBM Council members.
